History of Grace Christian Church - Église Chrétienne De La Grâce

The Beginning

Église Chrétienne de la Grâce, also known as Grace Christian Church, was founded in June 2010 by Pastor Francois Louis and Pastor Kervin Joseph. What began as a small gathering in Pastor Kervin's basement quickly blossomed into a thriving community of believers committed to living out the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our founders were inspired by a deep desire to reach out to the
Haitian community in Marietta, GA, and to create a place where people could grow in their faith, find hope, and experience the love of God.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is the supreme and
infallible authority which true Christians cannot live without.

Growth and Accomplishments

From our humble beginnings, Église Chrétienne de la Grâce has grown significantly, both in
numbers and in spiritual depth. By January 2011, we found our first official location in Marietta,
near the Fairground, where we held our inaugural service on March 13th, 2011. As the
congregation grew, we moved to a larger facility in Mableton in 2012, where we expanded our
ministry to accommodate more than 75 members.

Over the years, our church has continued to grow and evolve, even in the face of challenges.
After the passing of Pastor Francois in 2013, we experienced a period of transition that tested our
faith and unity. Despite these trials, we remained steadfast in our mission and continued to serve
our community with dedication and love. In 2020, under the leadership of Pastor Gusmann
Louis, we relocated to Austell, GA, and expanded our ministry to serve a congregation of over
150 members.

Today, our church is more vibrant than ever, with a wide range of ministries and programs
designed to meet the needs of our diverse congregation. We have established strong educational
programs for children and youth, initiated community outreach efforts, and developed support systems for families in need. Our church has also taken significant steps to give back to the
Haitian community, both locally and abroad, by supporting non-profit organizations and
providing aid to those in need.

We are a church family committed to supporting one another, walking in faith, and making a
lasting impact in the world through our service to God and the community. Join us on this
journey of faith and see how the Lord is working through us to build His kingdom!

Our Beliefs

  • We believe that there is one God who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that God is Spirit. He is infinite with respect to time and space.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten son of the Father. He is both fully God and fully man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He took the human condition and died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. He rose from the dead on the third day, ascended to heaven, and will return in his glory, first to seek His own (1 Thes. 4: 13-18), and later with His own to complete the establishment of His Kingdom (Rev. 19: 11-16).
  • We believe that all have sinned and deserve death. The propitiatory sacrifice of Christ offers us, however, the opportunity to escape the punishment when we put our trust in Him alone to save us from the condemnation of death and sin.
  • We believe that the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ and His resurrection from the dead are the only bases upon which our justification rests. “His death is a redemption, a ransom paid in response to the holy requirements of God to the sinner, in order for God to release him from a fair sentence.” (Lewis S. Chafer, The Great Doctrines of The Bible, 1998).
  • We believe that those who accept Christ as their personal Savior by faith are declared righteous by God because of the righteousness of Christ that is imputed to them. They receive at the same time the gift of the Holy Spirit who gives them the ability to live for God.
  • We believe that those who put their trust in Christ receive at the very moment the baptism of the Holy Spirit, this baptism being God’s work by which believers are made members of the body of Christ, and are united with Christ, watered by one Spirit (1 Cor. 12: 13). “It is by the ministry of the Spirit that members are added to the Body of Christ, and this ministry is the baptism of the Holy Spirit.”(Lewis S. Chafer / The Great Doctrines of the Bible, 1998).
  • We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ, and Christ the Head of the Church. All those who accept the sacrifice of the cross and are born of the Spirit are members of the Body of Christ, and are seen by God as a chosen people, a royal priesthood, and a holy nation.
  • We believe that the Church ought to perfect the saints for the work of ministry, edify the believers, enlighten and evangelize the world.
